She is passionate about toxin-free and simple living and embodies that beautifully by being a mama to her two boys and wife to her husband while growing her online business. Hi, Lily! Tell us about your business and what you do.
My name is Lily Burns, and I’m nestled into the woods of a state park in Ohio. I have the joy and honor of leading the country's largest toxin-free beauty organization and supporting families on their journey to a home less burdened by toxic chemicals.
When did you open your business and how did you get started?
I launched Living Well Mama in 2017 with simple sharing through social media. I didn’t want to leave my little ones, and I believed that a free platform with no geographic boundaries was the best way to support others!
What is your favorite part of being an Affiliate/Influencer?
Being a Sea Love Affiliate aligns beautifully with my mission. So many homes are burning toxic candles with no knowledge of what it does to their health or indoor air quality. I am so grateful that Stacy has offered a safe alternative for families who can’t imagine their homes without candles! :)
What values does your business embody?
My mission is to make switching to toxin-free products as simple as possible. There is so much misleading marketing (also known as “greenwashing”) with brands, that it can be very tricky to know a products safety profile without actually reading the label. I do the work for families by holding an incredibly strict ingredient policy and testing the performance! I don’t want anyone to feel the need to run back to an old toxic favorite because the performance isn’t what they’re used to!
Is your business a full time or part time venture? Do you have plans to grow/ expand?
I’m blessed to say that this is a full-time venture for me. My husband was a Doctor of Chiropractic when I first started and transitioned to a full-time homeschooling Dad thanks to the growth of my business!
There are many challenging that come along with running a small business. What is your biggest challenge and what is your biggest reward or success?
Because I LOVE what I do so much... the biggest challenge for me is creating a sustainable balance of work life and home life. It is so rewarding to be flooded with positive testimonies from families who are reaping the health benefits of going toxin- free!
What are some tips and tricks that you recommend to your clients?
Since it CAN be overwhelming to detox the many daily use items in our homes... I always recommend switching when you run out of a product. It doesn’t have to be a total overhaul at once, or an “all or nothing” journey. Every conventional product that is replaced = dozens of toxic ingredients no longer in your life... and that's a huge win!
How did you discover Sea Love and why did you choose to offer our candles and why did you choose to offer our candles and home fragrance to your customers?
I was gifted a set of candles from a sweet friend who shares my passion for clean living! I loved the performance AND the fact that I could finally burn a candle without my whole family getting a headache. Stacy has been incredibly helpful and transparent with her fragrance compounds, and I feel very confident offering them as a safe solution to my audience!
How important is presentation when supporting a non-toxic lifestyle?
I believe that presentation and performance are vital components of toxin-free living. What good is a safe product if it leaves you longing for your old toxic favorites, right?! :) I love putting clean brands to the test and sharing the best of the best!
